Here is a real treat for all you Jim Croce fans... This is the last show Jim performed before his untimely death in 1973. This is an audience recording, very good for its time. I obtained this recording many years ago thru the art of snail mail, back in the days before torrents were born. I believe this is 2nd generation from the master cassette tape. The story goes thusly: This CD contains the final moments of the legendary Jim Croce and his lead guitarist, Maury Muehleisen. Jim and Maury had just given a great show on the campus of Northwestern State Unversity in Natchitoches, Louisiana. They had been well-received by almost 2000 fans. Only fifteen minutes after this concert ended, they were both killed when their chartered plane crashed during takeoff from the Natchitoches, LA airport. Four others aboard the aircraft were also killed. This show was taped on a hand held cassette recorder by 2 young women in the 3rd row. You will find that the sound is pretty amazing for an audience recording from back in the day. Please enjoy a look back at the final performance of an American legend: Jim Croce. |
