Snake Oil was formed by four wildly diverse musicians from the Dayton, Ohio music scene whose goal was to “put the song back in songwriting.”
In the mix are two songwriters who treat the acoustic guitar like a rock instrument, one from a glam-punk background & the other used to play in a Ramones cover band & worships The Beatles. The drummer is prog-punk-hippie. & the bass player loves jazz & Sting.
Snake Oil is less bullshit, more music. Mixing up both acoustic & electric guitars both clean & overdriven. Sing along choruses, twangy ballads & moody atmospheric songs lead into straight out punk-influenced rockers. The band was recording a 2nd album when they broke up in the Summer of 2007.
